A great winter scene can conjure up all kinds of emotions, be it peace, stillness, excitement, or nostalgia. Winter imagery is popular wall decor year round.
This time of year though, thoughts naturally turn to Christmas wall murals. It’s simply wonderful to resonate the spirit of the season throughout the house.
Here’s a great example in black and white. This mural is called Winter River:
A winter snow scene photo mural (such as this one) in the living room compliments the tree and the hearth exquisitely. Or it can stand alone in a separate place, such as the dining room or entryway, echoing a winter wonderland theme.
The black and white highlights the sunlight on the river bed and snowy tree branches. Delightful any time of the year, this mural is particularly enchanting at Christmas.

Wishing everyone a happy and delicious Thanksgiving. May you be surrounded by family and friends alike, whether in person or in spirit.
We’ll have the usual houseful here. Post turkey, we all lay around and zone out in that semi conscious state from overeating.
Not completely unlike our flamingos wall mural friends here (though I have to say, none of us is quite that slim or graceful, lol).

There are many times when people wish to open up a small space, or make a room appear larger than it is. So, how can you make a small room appear larger?
The usual go-to’s for this situation (de-cluttering the room of excess furniture, or removing large decor items, such as artificial trees) will only take you so far. Think outside the box with the clever use of a wall mural.
In School of Fish, for example, the luminous coral reef is highlighted with hundreds of darting orange fish, creating many layers of depth. This photograph crates an illusion that really does trick the eye, and goes way beyond the 2 dimensions of any wall. It looks as if you can step right into the undersea world.
Is your room space-challenged? Creating the illusion of a bigger room is a challenge that can easily be met with an under the sea wall mural.

We’re often asked, “Can I wallpaper over existing wallpaper?” A lot of times a client is eager to purchase a wallpaper wall mural. Problem is, the intended wall already has wallpaper on it.
I have to say that it is not recommended. In order for your mural to look it’s best, the walls need to be prepped according to our installation instructions, which I won’t bore you with here, but you can certainly click on the link if you’re interested. The point to remember is: if your old wallpaper has seems, overlap, or any imperfections, the new mural will show these as well. If you’re cool with that, then wallpaper away!
Ok, that being said, I know that people hang wallpaper over old wallpaper all the time– my own dear husband included, lol. It’s definitely a time-saver, but you have to proceed with caution. So while I can’t as a professional recommend the practice, I can give you a little tip if you decide to go this route.
There is a product that works well if are considering hanging a wallpaper mural over your existing wallpaper. It’s called VOV, or Vinyl Over Vinyl Adhesive. You can purchase it here or at any home improvement store, like Home Depot, Lowe’s, and the like.
Read the instructions carefully and proceed at your own risk. If you do choose to hang over wallpaper, this is the best product we have found in 13 years.
Good luck!

It can be very difficult to find unique holiday gifts for elderly parents or relatives, particularly if they are housebound. Wallpaper murals provide a thoughtful and affordable solution.
The world for shut ins becomes very small compared to the life they lived when they were younger and more healthy. My favorite uncle recently passed from kidney failure, and was house bound for the last three years of his life. He was confined to his bed and had a small television to look at. He didn’t even have a view of a window.
Sadly as I look back, I remember the large off white walls of his bedroom. I never thought of it at the time, but he would have really loved a beautiful horse mural. In his healthy life, he owned race horses and was passionate about them.
A bright and colorful photo wall mural is a great gift, and can provide years of viewing pleasure. Murals not only brighten the room where your loved one resides, they can even lift their spirits.
Hospitals have long known the benefits of therapeutic visual imagery, and are frequently employ wall murals in corridors and therapy rooms. Here is a mural we did for a hospital wing:
So if your holiday shopping includes an aging or infirm relative or friend, consider giving them the gift of a mural this Christmas. This gift will bring a special warmth and happiness to their world. This is one gift you can really feel great about giving.

Embellish your room with this picturesque photo wall mural of manicured fields and traditional peeked roofs of Shirakawa Village houses.
Located in the northwest part of Ōno District, Gifu, in Gifu prefecture, Japan. Shirakawa Village is best known for it’s style of buildings known as gasshō-zukuri, or praying hands.
This mountain village is located at the highest peak on Mount Haku, so the practical reason behind the sharply sloped, prayer hands rooftops are to withstand the heavy snowfall.
From an aesthetic standpoint, the gasshō-zukuri juxtaposed with several shades of rich green is very pleasing to the eye. It makes a warm and interesting wall mural, and works nicely with Asian decor.
